I am a Mum to 3 children, aged 7, 10 and 13 and we are based in beautiful Taupo in New Zealand.
This blog began as a way to store and share my recipes with family and friends as I was so often asked for recipes. It has become so much more. I have learnt so much about blogging, social media, building websites and every inch of this place has been created by me and a lot of googling for help!

Hi Anna. I’m an expat kiwi and I saw your Gran’s afghan biscuits recipe on FB. Thankyou for sharing this recipe. I have fond memories of my mum’s afghans – particularly the texture.I had forgotten all about them and now definitely intend to reproduce.
I have inherited some hand written recipe books from my great aunt. They are fascinating and include such things as stove blacking, lamb colostrum and parsnip wine in amongst rabbit pie, anzac biscuits etc. (My mother still has a bottle of parsnip wine which could be 50 or 60 years old. It is occasionally brought out as a conversation piece and tiny tastes passed around. It has become a very heady -almost brandy like- brew).

Hi l made the perfect chocolate cake from I am baker you blogged about and it is very nice and rich
