One of my favourite things to do is to come up with new ways to serve up this amazing Christmas dessert. From my early start with a mascapone custard one (still my favourite by the way!), to chocolate indulgence and a Banoffee pie one, I have managed to come up with even more more to share.
Trifles are a layered dessert, of English origin. Always served cold, with layers of sponge which was traditionally soaked in wine or sherry, cream and fruit. I have taken this idea and expanded on it with a whole host of flavour combos.
Today I am sharing the best of the best so far, 7 delicious creations, something for everyone. Are you a citrus fan, gluten free, classic or something a little different?
Of course I am forgetting the best trifle of all, if you are a fan of Friends you will recall what was in the amazing trifle Rachel Green made for Thanksgiving, consisting of a layer of ladyfingers, then jam, custard, raspberries, more ladyfingers, beef sauteed with peas and onions, more custard, bananas and whipped cream.
Feel free to give that one a try if you are feeling brave! lol
I am so keen to see photos of my trifles all over my social media so be sure to tag me in them or send a photo, I cannot wait to hear what one is the all time favourite for this year.
